Nursery Decor

This nursery decor frame was created with the Straight from the Nest cartridge for all of the die cuts.  The scene was added to an altered frame that was originally black.  I painted the frame white and used Mod Podge to adhere strips of pink glitter paper.  I then stapled some coordinating ribbon to the back of the frame so that it could be hung on a wall.
The scene was created using the Fiskars Grass border punch at the bottom of the frame and by adding some simple flower stems topped off with paper flowers.
The two little birds were also embellished with paper flowers.  I added some extra layers of paper flowers and greenery to the branch to make it fuller and carry it across the top of the frame.
Some pearl stickers were added to the flower centers and to the other die cuts.  All of the die cuts were inked on the edges.  The scene was finished off with a twine bow made from Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine.

Extreme Layout

This 12x12 layout was created using the Dude Lite cartridge.  This cartridge has a lot of great masculine cuts on it which are super easy to layer.
All of the die cuts came from this cartridge with the exception of the flag which was hand cut.
To create a frame for my layout, I used my white gel pen to add faux stitching all the way around each of the pages.
The sprockets were embellished with some brads and inked on the edges.
I stapled a piece of coordinating ribbon to each of the photo mats and to the hand cut flag as an accent.
A metal embellishment with the sentiment "Capture the Joy" was added to the hand cut flag.

Lazy Summer Days Layout

This layout was created with a couple of challenges in mind.  I challenged myself to participate in the Trendy Twine challenge even though as a Design Team member I don't qualify to win the prize. Remember you still have a few days to enter the challenge to win some Trendy Twine.  I found this patterned paper in my stash which made my layout super easy to create using the Summer Celebrations cartridge.
I only added four die cuts to my layout with lots of little embellishments to create this little outdoor scene.
I used the D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder for the tree top, Herringbone for the tire and Houndstooth for the basket on the bike.
I tied some Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine to the tire swing and created a couple of twine butterflies with Blue Berry and Cherry Cupcake Trendy Twine.  The twine butterflies were created by wrapping some twine around a fork and just tying the center with a different color of twine, very simple to create.
Blue Berry twine was also used to embellish the bike.  I added a fun sentiment from Docerela Creations "Summertime" stamp set.
Some bling butterflies also completed the scene.  I added some paper flowers to the bicycle basket with some pearl stickers for the centers.  A few buttons accented with Trendy Twine finished off my layout.

Thank You Card

This simple thank you card was created using the Straight from the Nest cartridge for the flowers and Create a Critter cartridge for the sun.
Each of the flowers got some bling for the centers and I added a little bit of stitching to the sun with my white gel pen.
The flags were cut by hand and accented with a button and Peppermint Stick Trendy Twine.  The sentiment is from My Creative Time "Sport Sentiments" stamp set.

Happy Father's Day Card

Having several challenges in mind, I made this card for Father's Day using the Billionaire Lite cartridge for the argyle background and for the ties.
I used the diamond negative cuts from the argyle pattern to stamp "Happy Father's Day" which is from the Stampin' Up Delightful Dozen stamp set.  I added some pop dots between the diamonds so the sentiment would have some dimension.
All of the die cuts were inked on the edges.  The card was finished off with an accent of Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine.

Guest Designer for Trendy Twine

I am back over for my second guest design day for Trendy Twine.  Trendy Twine is showcasing the Blue Berry twine this month so I have a card to share created with this beautiful twine.
This shaped card was created using the Kate's ABC's cartridge.  I took the butterfly jar cut on the cartridge and welded it using my Gypsy to create this card.
I discarded the dragonflies from the die cuts and just used the butterflies.  The centers of each of the butterflies were adhered to the card and I lifted up the wings to give them some dimension.
For the butterfly bodies, I started with a strand of twine and wrapped twine over the single strand and knotted the beginning and the end of the twine.  For the small butterfly I used a single piece of twine without wrapping it.
The butterflies were all finished off with some bling.  I used my white gel pen on the greenery for the card.
The top of the jar was also embellished with some twine by wrapping it around the top and finishing off with a twine bow topped off with a kraft button.

Jurassic Park Layout

This layout was created using the Dinosaur Tracks cartridge.  This was my first time pulling this old cartridge out and using it and I loved all of the fun cuts on it.
I hand cut the border at the bottom of the layout and layered the die cuts on top of the border.  I cut the volcano in half so it could be symmetrically placed between the two pages.
I used some Xmas Red Stickles on the volcano to create the red lava.  The red Stickles really pop on this layout.
Each of the die cuts were inked on the edges and popped up on foam for added dimension.
The photo mats were embellished with some jute to give the layout an old rustic appearance.

Good Luck Graduate Layout

To enter my Blogaversary Giveaway, please click here.

Here is another layout I created to scrapbook pictures of my son's 8th grade graduation.  I used the Happy Graduation Seasonal cartridge for the title and the Recess Lite cartridge for all of the other die cuts.
The background paper is from the DCWV High School stack and it seemed to be the perfect paper for this layout.
The title did not have a shadow on the cartridge so I created my own shadow by cutting the title out twice in different colored card stock and off setting the layers.
Once again I used my white gel pen to add lots of doodling and stitching to the layout.
The tassels were created with Blue Berry Trendy Twine and attached with a brad at the center of the graduation cap.  A little bit of glue helped to hold the tassel in place.  I also outlined the bow on top of the diploma with the twine and added a button to the center.  The diploma was embossed with the Sizzix Diamonds embossing folder.
I created a couple of hand cut flags to add sentiments to each of the pages.  The sentiments are from the Scrappy Moms "Mini Messages" stamp set.
For the graduate, I used my Gypsy to hide the facial features and instead used my Peachy Keen "Wide Eyed Kids" stamps.  I also added a little bit of chalk to the cheeks and a couple of brads to his graduation gown.
