Craftwell - Gratitude Journal

Hello!  This is my second post for the day on my blog and my first post on the Craftwell blog. My project focuses on "mom life".   I think it is extremely important to focus on the positive in my life.  Being a working mom with tons of daily obligations, I like to take the time to focus on the best part of my day.  One of the ways to do this is to keep a gratitude journal and with Thanksgiving right around the corner I thought it was the perfect time to create one.
My project started with a simple journal I had in my stash and I selected some fall papers from the DCWV Autumn Leaves stack for the cover.  I used my electronic cutting machine to cut out some leaves, the "grateful" title and a scalloped circle.  The Teresa Collins Herringbone embossing folder was used to emboss the scalloped circle for some added texture.  A strip of coordinating washi tape and some tulle were the perfect embellishments for the cover.
Once the cover was finished, I decided to cut a few decorative elements to add to some of the pages. The die cut pieces are from the Teresa Collins Thankful Pocket Dies, they were absolutely perfect for my journal.

All of the die cuts were transformed with my eBrush which adds so much depth and dimension.  The eBrushed leaves are so colorful and unique based upon the color of the Sharpie pens used on each leaf.  I added a few leaves to the inside of my journal too.  I plan to use the tag as a bookmark so I embellished it with a matching paper clip, button and some Totally Navy Trendy Twine.
The die cuts were adhered to a few pages leaving most of them free for journaling. I think this will be a fun way not only to document the positive in my life but also to have the family contribute during the Thanksgiving holiday.  The journal can be a great tool for memory keeping and even adding pictures.  The little kids in the family can even draw pictures. The finished journal would make such a great gift for the grandparents.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

Prom Layout

I created this layout for some prom pictures of my daughter.  I used several items from my stash and scrap pile to create this layout.
The doily was cut from the Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art cartridge.  I layered a large hand cut tag on top.  The edge of the large tag was punched with the Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch.  The tag was finished off with some sheer ribbon and a twine bow.
Next I added a small medallion punched with the Martha Stewart Medallion Punch along with a glitter flower with a bling center.
I used a couple of flourishes on my layout.  I had the flourishes left over from another project and don't remember from which cartridge I cut them.
The title was cut from the Hello Kitty Font cartridge and added to a hand cut flags which created a banner.
The banner and the clothesline for the frames were embellished with Peppermint Stick Trendy Twine.

Pretty in Pink Layout

Today I am sharing this one page layout which I created using four different cartridges.  The "Pretty in Pink" title was cut from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge.  I cut off the poodle in the title and added a flower with a brad instead.  I accented the title with a twine bow.
The scalloped circle mat was cut from the Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art cartridge and the heart was cut from Love Struck.  I used an EK Success punch for the border and adhered some ribbon to the center of it.  I added a button with some twine to the heart.
The photo mat was cut from Elegant Edges and accented with a border from a Martha Stewart border punch.  I finished off the photo mat with some bling, stitching with my white gel pen and a twine bow.

Sweet 16

My daughter recently celebrated her Sweet 16.  I used my Expression to make some fun items for her birthday party.  I used the Sweet Treats cartridge to make her invitations.  I used the card feature at 5.5 inches.  The invitations were embossed with the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder with a little bit of bling.
The cupcake toppers were also made from the Sweet Treats cartridge but were cut at 1.0 inch. The cupcake liner was cut from the Cupcake Wrappers Lite Cartridge along with the layer.  Although the layer is not necessary for making the cupcake liner, the white layer really made the silver liner stand out.
My very talented sister made this beautiful banner using the Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art cartridge. The font for the banner is from the Storybook cartridge.
She not only made the "Happy Birthday" banner but also made a separate banner with my daughter's name.  She incorporated the cupcakes at the ends of the banner to stay with the whole cupcake theme. Here is a close up of one of the pieces of the second banner.
Finally, each of the party guests went home with a sweet treat of their own which were these delicious Hershey bars.  The Hershey bars were wrapped in silver paper and labeled with a sweet sentiment. Then a tag was attached with ribbon.  The tag was cut from the Celebrations cartridge.  More of the smaller cupcakes from the Sweet Treats cartridge were used to create the tags for the candy bars.
