Trendy Twine Design Day - Altered Journal

Today is our group design day over on the Trendy Twine blog and we are featuring a new twine color this month, Cherry Lemonade.  This twine is a twist of red and yellow.
For my project, I altered a journal with the back to school theme.  At the bottom of the journal I adhered a school theme border.  I created a notebook page on the cover by cutting a small piece of school writing theme scrapbook paper and punching the edge with the Fiskars Notebook punch.
I intertwined the twine through the punched edge by double wrapping it.  A pencil cut from the Smiley Cards cartridge was added to the notebook page, wrapped with some twine.  The pencil was embossed with the Distress Stripes Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The twine was then swirled on the page with a line of glue to give the appearance of doodling.  As a finishing touch, the notebook page was stamped with a sentiment from Docerela stamps.
A coordinating bookmark was created by adhering a school theme border.  A small apple cut from the Create a Critter cartridge and stamped with Peachy Keen Stamps was added to the bookmark.  A small amount of ribbon with stars was added to the hole at the top and tied with a small twine bow.
Stop by the store to check out this new twine color featured for the month of September along with Lemon Peppermint another new color.  We also have a fun back to school challenge going on this month, so please come link up your creations here.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sweet Layout

With the end of Summer quickly approaching I have a summery layout to share today.  I used the Smiley Cards cartridge for the title, popsicles and ice cream cones.
I used the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch on the solid card stock at the top of the layout and also on the photo mats.
The ice cream was embossed with the D'Vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder and the cones were embossed with the Sizzix Diamonds embossing folders.
The title and the popsicles were embossed with the Darice Swirl embossing folder.  I cut the title out twice and offset it to create a layer, embossing only the top layer.
Each of the popsicles were finished off with a bow in some yummy Trendy Twine.
