Happy New Year

Happy New Year my crafty friends!  Today begins a brand new design team term for Trendy Twine and I am happy to say I have been invited back for a second term.  I am really looking forward to twining it up with the rest of the team!  I created this card using the Storybook cartridge for the "2013". I cut it out twice and added foam pop dots between the layers to create some dimension.
The border was punched using the EK Success Medallion Chain border punch and embellished with Peppermint Stick Trendy Twine.

Sketch Challenge

The Circle blog has a sketch challenge going on which requires choosing any sketch from the Circle blog or magazine and creating a project with it.  I found this sketch on the Circle blog and used it for my layout.
I created a double page 12x12 layout for some pictures of my family at an event last year. The Flower Shoppe cartridge was used to cut all of the flowers for the layout, Just Because Cards was used for the title and Storybook for the "2011".
I used a pearlescent paper for the photo mats and embossed them with the Darice Large Petals embossing folder.

I made a few modifications to my large flowers so that I could somewhat flatten them for my layout.  I also incorporated cuts from two different flowers to create these flowers.  The edges of all of the flowers were inked to give them some definition and the flowers were finished off with some bling for the centers.
The title was popped up on foam dots for added dimension and dressed up with a tiny bow made from coordinating twine.

Sweet 16

My daughter recently celebrated her Sweet 16.  I used my Expression to make some fun items for her birthday party.  I used the Sweet Treats cartridge to make her invitations.  I used the card feature at 5.5 inches.  The invitations were embossed with the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder with a little bit of bling.
The cupcake toppers were also made from the Sweet Treats cartridge but were cut at 1.0 inch. The cupcake liner was cut from the Cupcake Wrappers Lite Cartridge along with the layer.  Although the layer is not necessary for making the cupcake liner, the white layer really made the silver liner stand out.
My very talented sister made this beautiful banner using the Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art cartridge. The font for the banner is from the Storybook cartridge.
She not only made the "Happy Birthday" banner but also made a separate banner with my daughter's name.  She incorporated the cupcakes at the ends of the banner to stay with the whole cupcake theme. Here is a close up of one of the pieces of the second banner.
Finally, each of the party guests went home with a sweet treat of their own which were these delicious Hershey bars.  The Hershey bars were wrapped in silver paper and labeled with a sweet sentiment. Then a tag was attached with ribbon.  The tag was cut from the Celebrations cartridge.  More of the smaller cupcakes from the Sweet Treats cartridge were used to create the tags for the candy bars.
