DCWV - December Challenge

Hello!  It's the beginning of the month and that means it's time for another challenge over at DCWV. For this month's challenge we have a special "mood board" challenge just in time for the holidays. Here is the mood board that was provided to the design team.

When I saw this gorgeous mix of images, colors and patterns, I was immediately inspired to thumb through my DCWV Christmas Plaid stack to create this layout page.  All of the papers are from the same stack with the exception of the reindeer and spruce stems which were cut from the DCWV All About Christmas Stack.  The reindeer was cut from the Winter Woodland cartridge and the spruce stems are Cottage Cutz dies. The gold doilies are from the DCWV 4x4 Paper Lace Stack.

I can't help but love all of the gold foil in these papers, it is hard to photograph but so elegant.  I went to my stash of embellishments and scattered a few snowflakes amongst the doilies.  Several punched branches and berries were also adhered along the edges of the photo mat.  The final finishing touch was some Holly Berry Trendy Twine.  I can't wait to add a picture of my families annual Christmas Eve get together.  I know this layout page will display one of those memories perfectly!

I used the Winter Woodland cartridge to cut the title and the snowmen for my layout.  The snowflake border and individual snowflakes were popped up on foam dots for added dimension.

The sentiment is from the new Simply Christmas stamp set and was stamped on a hand cut flag.  A small bow in Blue Berry Trendy Twine was added as an accent.

Snow Day Layout

This snow day layout was created using the Winter Woodland cartridge for the snowflakes and title. The snowflakes were inked on the edges for dimension.  A tag was tucked in behind the photo mat with small sentiment.

A couple of hand cut flags with sentiments from the Scrappy Moms Picture Perfect stamp set were added.  The flags were tied together with some Frosted Cranberry Trendy Twine.

A bit of washi tape was added to the title as an accent.  The snowflakes were popped up on foam dots.

Winter Layout

This Winter themed layout was created using the Winter Frolic cartridge for the title and the tag and the Winter Woodland cartridge for the snowflakes.

Some Blue Berry Trendy Twine was the perfect coordinating color for my layout.  I added some pop dots between two layers to give the title some dimension.

A tag was tucked in behind the photo mat.  The tag was embellished with some tiny crochet flowers and more trendy twine.  A couple of die cuts were added as embellishments.  A few bling were added to the snowflakes as a finishing touch.

Trendy Twine Design Day - Joy Layout

Today is my design day over at the Trendy Twine blog and I have a holiday layout to share featuring Candy Cane Trendy Twine.  I have a sneak peek over here so pop over to the Trendy Twine blog for all of the details.  The title was cut from the Don Juan cartridge and the snowflakes from Wrap It Up, Winter Woodland and Spellbinders.
