DCWV - Gift Bag Tutorial

Today I have a tutorial which takes plain gift bags and easily transforms them into colorful treats for gift giving with papers from the gorgeous DCWV Watercolor Stack.  This stack is available at both Hobby Lobby and Joanns.

• Select patterned card stock from the DCWV Watercolor Stack and a couple of plain gift bags.
• Disassemble the handle from the bags.
• Cut card stock 1/4 inch smaller than the size of gift bag and adhere the card stock to the bag with the Scotch Advanced Tape glider.
• Punch holes from the inside of the bag using the previously punched holes as a guide.

• Trim tags from the sheet of tags from the DCWV Watercolor Stack.
• Trim decorative strips of papers and sentiments from another sheet of DCWV Watercolor Stack. 

• Assemble tags to front of bag layering on top of strips of paper.
• Optional: die cut or punch circle from coordinating paper and adhere to tag as an embellishment.
• Adhere sentiment tag on top of circle.
• Hand cut flags and adhere to bag as an accent.

• Replace ribbon handle with original handle or substitute decorative ribbon.
• Add gift and tissue paper to transformed gift bag.

Hershey Kiss Treats

Hello!  Today I am sharing a quick treat which was created with four different Peachy Keen Emoji Face Assortment stamp sets: Shady Emojis, Bucket List Emojis, Lifers Emojis and Zippy Emojis. The faces were stamped on a 3/4" circle which was the perfect size to adhere to the hershey kisses and tuck into a Shorty Candy Chute from Annie's Paper Boutique.

I punched out a tag using my Fiskars tag punch, adhered some washi tape along the bottom and embellished it with a Chevron Trendy Page Dot.  The adorable emoji was layered on my tag.  I added a sentiment on a hand cut flag from the Scrappy Moms More Mini Messages (retired) stamp set.  The tag was tied to the candy chute with some Cranberry Trendy Twine.

Trendy Twine - Summer Layout

Hello!  I have a single page layout to share over on the Trendy Twine blog today featuring some gorgeous Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine.  This twine is one of my favorite colors and was the inspiration for my layout page.  My page started with some fun papers from the DCWV Watercolor Stack.  The flamingo, tree, sunglasses and sun were all cut from the KaDoodle Bug Designs Paradise Found cutting file.  The title was cut from the Lia Griffith projects in Cricut Design Space.

Several different punches and dies were used for the flowers.  The twine was used to accent the photo mat, die cuts and the flag in the corner of the layout page.  I also cut a bit more greenery to tuck around the flowers.  A doily from my stash was layered over the patterned paper for another pop of color.

DCWV - Happy Day

Hello!  I have a project to share over on the DCWV blog today.  We seem to be in the midst of the Summer wedding season right now and I have fun gift packaging idea to share today.  I used an oversized pillow boxes and embellished it with some sparkly papers and tags from DCWV.

To create this pillow box, I wrapped the center of the box with a 2 inch strip cut from the Silver Shimmer Die Cut Sheet (available at Hobby Lobby).  Next, I added a couple of one inch strips of paper on each side cut from the Glitzy Glitter Card Stock Stack (available at Joanns).  The papers were secured with glue dots on the bottom side.  I used some coordinating May Arts ribbon and tied a bow.  A couple of tags from the DCWV Ultimate Tag Stack (available at Hobby Lobby) were tied with a bit of Totally Black Trendy Twine to the ribbon.  I accented the larger tag with some sparkly washi tape.

Motivational Bottle

Today I have fun project to share which I created with my Cricut Explore.  I used a SVG file for the vinyl and adhered it to one side of the water bottle.  It is a great reminder to drink water all day long.  On the other side of the bottle I cut out a the "be happy" circle from the Calligraphy Collection Cricut Cartridge.

The base of the tag was cut from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge using the DCWV Watercolor Stack.  I used the Cool Pineapple file from Kadoodle Bug Designs.  The tag was embellished with some washi tape and some Totally Pink Trendy Twine.

Planner Clips

You should be arriving from Shelly's blog, if you just came across my blog, you may want to start at the beginning of the hop on the Trendy Twine blog.  For my first project, I created a single page 12x12 layout with the Documenting the Everyday #2 stamp set.  I used the DCWV Premium Denim Stack and the DCWV Scripts and Music Notes Stack for the background of my layout page.  A fringe border and corner accent was cut from the Recollections Gold Foil card stock sheet.

The "hello" tag is from my stash and was layered on a journaling tag and some coordinating paper. A trail of denim flower surrounded the photo mat.  A gold doily was tucked in behind the photo mat and a Camera Planner Clip accented the photo mat.  Some Totally Navy Trendy Twine was used to embellish my layout page.  A journaling tag was tucked in and accented with some more twine.  A Chevron Trendy Page Dot was added to the tag.  An embossed arrow and sentiments from the Document the Everyday #2 stamp set were adhered above the photo mat.  A die cut gold seal was tucked under the sentiments as an embellishment.  A few scattered sequins were the finishing touch on my layout page.

My second project for today was created with the new Smile stamp set.  My husband just celebrated his birthday a few days ago so I needed a masculine birthday card.  The papers are from the DCWV Maps, Text, Ledgers Stack which was layered with a Journaling Tag and another Manila tag which was stapled on top.  I ended up using the back side of the Journaling Tag which ended up working better on my card.  A bit of washi tape was added to both of the tags.  The sentiment is from the new Smile stamp set.

A bit of Totally Chocolate Trendy Twine was added to each of the tags.  I used some burlap ribbon on the Journaling Tag for a bit more texture.  A few punched stars and a hand cut flag were the finishing touch on my card.

DCWV - Congrats Card

Hello!  Today I have a card to share over on the DCWV blog created with the Blush Stack available at AC Moore. The soft pink and white papers with gold foil accents were perfect for a wedding card.  This simple card came together easily by adding a strip of light pink paper over the patterned paper.  I embossed the strip of gold paper which was left over from another project and is part of the Modern Metallic Stack, also available at AC Moore.  The same gold paper was used to cut out the "congrats' with a die.  I cut the sentiment four times to give it some dimension on my card.

My card was accented with a paper flower from my stash.  I punched out another smaller flower with the gold paper along with a couple of branches and added them to the flower for a pop of color.  The flower was adhered with some Glue Dots and finished off with a pearl center.  The final accent on my card was a few scattered sequins.

Trendy Twine - Treats

Hello! I have a back to school treat box to share over on the Trendy Twine blog today featuring lots of fun products from Annie's Paper Boutique.  I know most crafter think of pre-school and elementary school children when they think of back to school.  Well my daughter is leaving back to college after being home all summer and I thought it would be fun to send her back to school with a treat box more appropriate for her and her roommates. No better way to get back into the college setting than with some yummy treats.  I knew these treats would be a hit.

I recycled a clear box and tucked in a doily as decorative elements.  The mini treat cups were the inspiration for my project so I stacked them and added a shorty candy chute embellished with a bit of ice cream paper.  A bit of shred was added to the treat cups.  The small candy sacks were the perfect size for holding some sundae toppings. A mini wooden scoop was tucked into each candy sack and then sealed off with some washi tape and tied with some Raspberry Cupcake twine.  I also thought it would be perfect to include some wood spoons in the regular and mini size.  I wrapped them with some washi tape and put them into a medium candy bag.  A bit more twine was used to accent the bag.  Some paper straws were tucked into another medium candy bag.

I created a hand cut tag from some ice cream themed paper and added a chevron trendy page dot and more twine.  A paper clip with ribbon was clipped to the tag along with two hand cut flags with sentiments from the Scrappy Moms Ice Cream Social and Countless Occasions (retired) stamp sets. A white metal rim tag was embellished with a bit more twine and a paper flower with a bling center. I hung the tag off the corner of the box and secured it with a clear glue dot.  As a final accent, I wrapped the clear box with some chevron ribbon from May Arts.

DCWV - August Stack-a-holic Challenge

Hello!  There's a new Stack-a-holic Challenge over at DCWV for August.  There's a new challenge every month with both a card sketch and a layout sketch.  I was inspired by the card sketch to create this sparkly card!  The base of my card is from the DCWV Embossed Kraft Cards.  I used the DCWV Kraft & Gold Stack available at AC Moore to create my card, such a pretty combination.  I went with the polka dot and stripes them for my card.

I layered a hand cut flag on the die cut circle and stamped it with a sentiment from the Scrappy Moms More Mini Messages (retired) stamp set.  A few large sequins were the finishing touch on my card.

Beach Day Layout

Today I have a fun layout page to share over on the KaDoodle Bug Designs blog.  I was digging through my papers and found the DCWV Tahiti Beach Stack in my stash which was perfect for the background papers.  I used the Fiskars Boundary Waters Punch to add waves to my page. The beach scene was created with the Beach Day Bears cutting file from KaDoodle Bug Designs. I used the Peachy Keen Teddy Bear Face Stamps for their faces. The sun was stamped with the new Peachy Keen Lifers Emoji Face Stamps.

I used my white gel pen to do a lot of doodling on all of the paper piecings to accent them.  I also used some Twisted Blue Berry Trendy Twine to accent my layout page.  A sentiment from the Scrappy Moms Beach Bums (retired) stamp set was tucked in behind the photo mat.  A couple of scalloped circles cut with my Spellbinders dies and a journaling tag finished off my layout.
