DCWV - February Stack-a-holic Challenge

Hello!  It's the beginning of the month and that means it's time for another challenge over at DCWV! For my project I went to my collection of DCWV DIY Project stacks and used papers from the Mini Albums and Tags stacks.  I love to repurpose the stacks and use them for all kinds of projects.

The patterned acetate is absolutely gorgeous which I layered against the solid gray.  I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies from Gina Marie Designs for the base layers of my card.  Next I added the large tag and tucked in a scalloped circle and adhered a heart over the tag.  The gold sentiment is also from the Mini Albums stack and was adhered on a hand cut flag.  I used some Glue Dots to ensure everything was secure against the acetate background.  A few enamel dots and a small bow in Totally Kraft Trendy Twine was the finishing touch on my card.

Craftwell - Valentine's Home Decor

Hello, today I am sharing a Valentine's home decor project over on the Craftwell blog.  I picked up this wooden frame from Michaels and it has been awaiting a makeover for some time now.  I plan to display it in my craft room and change it out for different holidays.

To create my project, I die cut some hearts, scalloped circles and 2 sets of XO letters using my electronic die cutter.  The scalloped circles were embossed with the Delicate Dots embossing folder. Next, I used my Cut 'n' Boss to die cut several small hearts with the Teresa Collins Pocket Dies.  I also die cut some circles in 2 different sizes.

When I laid my circles down, everything looked flat so I created a rosette and tucked it between the 2 layers of circles.  The rosette provided the perfect amount of dimension and pop of color.  Now that I had my vision for my home decor project, I used my Xyron Small Sticker Maker and adhered the letters to the scalloped circles.

The die cut hearts were shaded with my eBrush for some added dimension.  Since I was working with solid red paper I used a darker color Sharpie for the shading.

The final layout of my banner with each of the components came together just as I had envisioned. Even though the rosettes were a bit tedious to put together, I love the final product.

I added each piece of the banner to the wooden frame using a clothespin.  The die cut hearts were added to the bottom clothesline of the frame.  A couple of kraft paper flowers were used to embellish the hearts.

Trendy Twine - Mini Tag Album

Hello, today I am sharing a project over on the Trendy Twine blog created with the Mini Tag Album and some Totally Red Trendy Twine. The mini tag album is fun for adding pictures and journaling for memory keeping.

I trimmed some Valentine papers to the same size of the chipboard pages and adhered them on the front and back of the album pages.  Next, I added some fun embellishments to the front of each of the album pages.  The perfect pair sentiment is from the APB You & Me stamp set.  Some twine accents in Totally Red Trendy Twine were added as a finishing touch.

DCWV - Love

Hello!  I have this unconventional Valentine's Day card to share today over on the DCWV blog. Since we are only a few weeks away from Valentine's Day I thought I would whip out a card for my hubby.  I know he always appreciates my handmade cards.  I used the DCWV Watercolor stack for my card and a few different dies to cut out the pieces for my card.

I stamped a sentiment from the Pink & Main True Love stamp set on the center of my card and added a twine banner from some Totally Pink Trendy Twine.  Several die cut hearts were adhered along the banner and also layered next to the sentiment.

Trendy Twine - Treat Bag

Hello, I have a project to share over on the Trendy Twine blog today featuring some gorgeous Totally Red Trendy Twine.  My project started with a basic chevron bag which was decorated with a doily. For a bit of interest, I adhered some heart themed washi tape over the doily.

A couple of hearts were cut from the Cottage Cutz Stitched Heart Set and layered over the doily.  The sentiment and heart border are from the APB You & Me stamp set which were stamped on a coordinating red "tag its".  I tucked in a couple of treats using the skinny candy bags.  The finishing touch was a couple of twine accents in Totally Red Trendy Twine.

DCWV Tag Project

Hello crafty friends, today I have a special post for the DCWV Tag Project for Creativation 2017. DCWV will have a wall of tags at their both which shows "why do I create" or "what makes me a maker".  DCWV has asked not only the DT but anyone else interested to send in a tag for the DCWV booth.  There are additional details at the end of my post.

I am sharing 3 of the 5 tags I created and sent to DCWV.  All 3 of my tags are sparkly and shiny with several embellishments.  My first tag was created with the DCWV Modern Metallic stack and represents my "love" for crafting.  I cut the doily from the Die Versions Lucky Scallop die and trimmed it to fit my card.  The hexagon shaped button is also die cut as are the sequins (MFT Sequin Die).  The final accent on my tag was some Black Licorice Trendy Twine.

The second tag was created with the DCWV Watercolor stack which has been my "go to" stack since it was released last year.  This stack has so many vibrant colors and patterns so I'm naturally drawn to the papers.  A gold die cut circle and a set of paper flowers were added as embellishments to the tag. Some Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine was tied to the top of the tag.

The last tag was created with the DCWV Kraft and Gold Stack which is a delightful combination!  I added a simple sentiment from the Watercolor stack which represents my crafty time.  A few die cut stars were adhered to the tag and I used a bit of washi tape on each of the layers.  Some gold tulle was tied to the top as the finishing touch.

DCWV - Wedding Elegance

Hello! Today I have a wedding card to share over on the DCWV blog.  I have a winter wedding to attend and wanted to create an elegant card.  The papers from the DCWV Scripts and Music Notes stack were the perfect combination of beauty and elegance for my card.  The gold script vellum was used as the base of my card and layered with a die cut doily.

Next I layered a double fringe border which was cut from the Recollections Gold Foil card stock sheet.  I adhered some coordinating trim along the top of the fringe.  A small paper flower from my stash and some gold pearl stickers were the finishing embellishments on my card.

Craftwell - Thank You Cards

Hello! Today I have a set of thank you cards to share over on the Craftwell blog.  Now that the holidays are over, it is time to send out those thank you's.  These are also easy to mass produce so you have them on hand.

The first thing I did was die cut my card base with the Cut n' Boss.  I used the Scalloped Stitched Nested Rectangle die which was then embossed with the Quatrafoil and the Perky Peacock embossing folders.

The base of my card was stamped with a sentiment from the Scrappy Moms Many Thanks (retired stamped set.  Next, I trimmed the embossed rectangle down so the sentiment would peek through the split rectangle.

I used the scalloped edges to frame the sentiment and added pop dots on the back of the cut pieces for added dimension.

My thank you cards seemed to need a pop of color and the eBrush was absolutely perfect for highlighting some paper flowers from my stash.  I love using my Sharpies with the eBrush since I always have the right color on hand.

To finish off my cards, I layered the flowers on my card and added a tiny bling center to each of them.

It is amazing how elegant a couple of simple cards can look using some gorgeous embossing folders. Each of these embossing folders provides a different amount of depth and dimension on the card base.

DCWV - January Stack-a-holic Challenge.

Hello!  It's the beginning of the month and that means it's time for another challenge over at DCWV! With the beginning of the New Year, it's time to start thinking about sending out those thank you cards.  The base of my card was cut from the 6x6 Color Embossed stack which I cut using the Loopy Rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs.

The Mandala was fussy cut from the Boho stack and adhered to the base of my card.  I hand cut a flag and stamped a sentiment from the Scrappy Moms Many Thanks (retired) stamp set.  The flag was then shaded using my eBrush.  A couple of bling flowers were the finishing touch on my card.

Craftwell - Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!  Today I project to share over on the Craftwell blog which can quickly be transformed into an elegant hostess gift.  Now that New Years is over I am able to share this gift giving idea.

I started my project by cutting out a wine bottle tag which I designed in Cricut Design Space.  The bow and sentiment were also cut with my electronic die cutter.  I cut the white banner out with the Fish Tail Banner dies.

The wine bottle tag was embossed below the score line with the Modern Stripe embossing folder. The shimmer paper gives the embossing an elegant look.

Once I created the bow, everything was adhered on the wine bottle tag.  I ran the intricate sentiment through my Xyron sticker maker for easy application.

The wine bottle tag is a super quick and easy way to transform a wine bottle.  The embossing adds the perfect amount of dimension.
