Hello!  Today I have a fun card to share over on the Scrapping Cottage blog for my design team day.  My goal was to create a summer themed card just to say hello.

I used several of the newly released Slimline dies to create my card.  My card base and water background was cut with the Rounded Rectangles Slimline dies. I also used the Hills Slimline for the water and dirt background. The clouds are from the Lift Flaps Stitched Rectangle Slimline die set.  The adorable Surf Mobile was cut out of some bright and cheery card stock.
The combination of ink and basic card stock gives my card base lots of depth and dimension for a tropical appearance.
Once my background was complete, I affixed the clouds, stamping the "Aloha" sentiment on one of them.  I also trimmed one of the clouds for a better fit on my card.
The surf mobile was the final addition to my card.  The bright colors of the car were perfect for finishing off the bold design.
This will be a fun card to send to that special someone just to say hello or aloha!

Celebrating Your Love

Hello!  Today I have a bridal shower card to share over on the Scrapping Cottage blog for my design team day.  With wedding season upon us, I went for a simple but elegant card to celebrate the special occasion.

The new Nested Rectangles Slimline was used to cut out the floral rectangle for my card base.  I also used the Nested Stitched Scallop Oval Set for the white oval and the umbrella is from the Spring Showers Buddies.  I added a few pearls to the umbrella to give it bridal look.

The floral rectangle base was layered on top of a white card stock background for some contrast.  I adhered a strip of coordinating paper on top to break up the floral pattern.
Next, I heat embossed a sentiment inside the oval with some gold embossing powder to give my card an elegant look.
The oval was adhered to my card base with the umbrella inside at a slight angle.
A few more coordinating pearls were sprinkled inside the oval for the final finishing touch on my card.

I Shore Love You!

Hello!  Today I have a project to share over on the Scrapping Cottage for my design team post.  My card features several dies from the new Slimline die release.  These dies make slimline cards so quick and simple to create!

My card base was cut with the Nested Stitched Rectangles Slimline die set.  I used a cloud stencil to create the puffy cloud background.  I left the bottom portion of my card alone since I knew it would be covered up.  I used the Hills Slimline for the sand border and the Clouds Slimline for the 2 sets of clouds.  The Sandcastle was cut with white card stock and shaded with some Oxide Inks.

The next step in my design process was to cover the bottom portion of my card base with the sandy hill.  The splattered paint adds a bit of interest to the sand.
Next, I layered the set of clouds on top portion of my card base.  The addition of the white cloud border breaks up all of the blue in the background.

The sandcastle was affixed on top of the sandy hill as the focal point of my card.  This die cut is so detailed and was perfect for finishing off the beachy scene!

The sentiment was stamped on a hand cut flag and was affixed between the sandcastle and clouds.

A Lucky Few Have a Mom Like You!

Hello!  Today I'm back over on the Scrapping Cottage with another card featuring the new Slimline dies. With Mother's Day right around the I decided to create a simple but elegant card.  The floral papers were definitely the inspiration for my card!

First, I cut out my card and 2 layers with the Rounded Rectangles Slimline die set.  All of the die cuts are from the Spring Bloom Cottage die set which has so many elements that can be used separately as I did on this card.  I used some card stock along with Oxide Inks to shade the pieces.  The 3 circles are from the Circle Set die set.
To create my card, I layered the rounded rectangles on my card base and then evenly spaced the circles directly on top.
The watering cans were affixed in the center of the top and bottom circles on my card.
Next, I adhered each of the smaller mushrooms to the larger mushroom and then placed them inside the middle circle.
I heat embossed the sentiment on a coordinating piece of card stock and adhered it under the set of mushrooms.

Happy Birthday!

Hello!  I have a project to share over on the Scrapping Cottage blog for my design team post. Today's card follows the Throwback Tuesday theme featuring the fun and festive Party Animal Bus as the focal point of my card.  On Throwback Tuesdays the design team has an opportunity to use die sets from previous releases and this one was sitting on my craft desk just waiting to be used.  My card also showcases the new Slimline dies.

I used some cloud themed paper and cut it with the Nested Stitched Rectangle Slimline die.  Next, I affixed the hill cut from the Hills Slimline die set on the bottom edge of my card.  It looked a little plain so I adhered another layer for a bit of dimension.  I was inspired to do this by another Cottage Cutz design team member, Pam.  You can check out her super cute layered hill card here. The adorable party animal bus was placed on top of the hill with a couple extra balloons floating above.  I heat embossed the happy birthday sentiment directly on my card base.
